ASK them to support or oppose a bill.
THANK them for a vote you appreciated.
TELL them which issue matters most to you.

Ways To Communicate

TIPS TO INCREASE YOUR IMPACT
1. Be brief and to the point. Discuss only one issue in each email or letter.
2. Identify bills by title and number.
3. Research your issue, organize the facts and your talking points, include personal connections to the legislation when appropriate.

MAKE A PHONE CALL:
Phone calls are most effective when a vote on a measure is imminent. A staff member will log your call and position on pending legislation.

SEND AN EMAIL OR LETTER
As with phone calls, emails are logged by congressional staff. Letters sent throuigh the mail take the longest amount of time because they need to be screened for security purposes.

IN PERSON
A face to face visit to your representative is an effective way to deliver your message. If you plan to visit the capitol, make an appointment
