TIPS TO INCREASE YOUR IMPACT
1. Be brief and to the point. Discuss only one issue in each email or letter.
2. Identify bills by title and number.
3. Research your issue, organize the facts and your talking points, include personal connections to the legislation when appropriate.

MAKE A PHONE CALL:
Phone calls are most effective when a vote on a measure is imminent and will be logged.

SEND AN EMAIL OR LETTER
As with phone calls, emails are logged by congressional staff. Letters sent through the mail need to be screened for security purposes.

IN PERSON
Of course, a face-to-face visit to your representative is always effective.
