Being nonpartisan, the League does not support or oppose candidates for office at any level of government, nor does it stand for or against a political party. At the same time, the League is wholeheartedly political. We work to influence policy through advocacy.
The League of Women Voters advocates for informed and active participation in government. We welcome opportunities to improve our systems of government and impact public policies through education and advocacy.
In hosting public programs for the community, League will focus on key public policy positions that have been analyzed and adopted by consensus of our state membership.
We choose forum issues based on two criteria:
• How does it affect our community?
• Will League’s involvement make a difference? |
