The International Women’s Day Committee invites members of the La Crosse community and beyond to a celebration of International Women’s Day.
The celebration will consist of a panel discussion with a special emphasis on forging gender equality through collaboration and abundant giving. Panelists will include Assem Izmukhanova representing Kazakhstan, Ngozi Nduka representing Nigeria, and Lisbeth Reynertson, representing Denmark. After the panelists speak, time will be set aside for questions from the audience.
Free parking will be available in Lot C-12 (by the Cleary Center) or on the campus streets (16th, 17th, or Farwell – around the ramp). For additional information about accessibility, please contact International Education and Engagement at
international@uwlax.edu or 608-785-8016. A Zoom option is available on Facebook; see below.
There will be a menstrual product collection to benefit local schools and women’s shelters. Please bring a donation of tampons or pads.
International Women’s Day is celebrated in countries around the world each year on March 8th. The theme for the 2026 International Women’s Day is #GiveToGain: When we give, we gain. Together, let’s help forge gender equality through abundant giving. The IWD 2026 Give To Gain Campaign encourages a mindset of generosity and collaboration.
